ClassCover uses a combination of school lists, availability, and booking settings to determine who receives requests and in what order. Understanding how this works can help you increase your chances of being booked.
Audience: Relief Teacher
How booking requests are sent
When a school creates a booking, ClassCover sends the request to teachers on the school’s list.
Requests may be sent:
One teacher at a time, or
To multiple teachers at once
The first teacher to accept the booking request is booked.
If you accept a booking request but are not confirmed, another teacher accepted the booking first.
Who receives requests
You only receive booking requests from schools that have added you to their list.
You can join a school’s list by:
Connecting with the school through Find New Schools, or
Accepting a connection request from the school
The more school lists you are on, the more booking requests you may receive.
If you are not receiving requests:
Check you are connected to the school under My Schools
Check your availability is updated correctly
How your availability affects visibility
Schools can see your availability before sending booking requests.
If your availability is not set for a date:
You may not appear in booking searches
You may not receive booking requests for that day
Keeping your Calendar updated is the best way to ensure you receive booking requests on the days you want to work.
LRT and DRT teachers
If you hold a:
Local Relief Teacher (LRT) contract, or
District Relief Teacher (DRT) contract
you are automatically booked on rostered days under that contract.
On those days:
You receive a booking confirmation only
You do not receive a booking request
On non-rostered days, you can still receive standard casual booking requests through ClassCover.
Result
You can better understand:
How booking requests are distributed
Why you may or may not receive requests
How to improve your visibility to schools
Note
LRT and DRT contracts are managed by the Queensland Department of Education support team, not through ClassCover
If you have questions about your contract or rostered days, contact your Queensland Department of Education support representative
To connect with more schools on non-rostered days, use Find New Schools in the app
Tip
To increase your chances of being booked:
Join more school lists
Keep your availability updated
Respond to requests quickly
Result
You understand how booking requests are sent and what affects your visibility, helping you maximise your chances of receiving and securing bookings.
